Eddie's Bicycles has been serving cyclists in the State College & Centre County region for over 26 years.  We love bikes, and that's why we are here.  We love riding, and more importantly, we love helping other people to enjoy riding as much as we do.  Bicycles make peoples' lives better.  At least, that is what we believe.  Our mission is to get as many people on bicycles as possible.  Its our little way of helping to make the world a better place, for all of us

Bicycles can cut down on transportation costs, help keep you in shape, give you a little fresh air, get the whole family out together, avoid messy, complicated parking restrictions, reduce your carbon footprint, and let you experience the wonderful trails and bike paths in the State College Area.  The possibilities and benefits are virtually endless.  You are limited only by your imagination.  Bicycles are freedom.  Set yourself free.  Come to our store and test ride a few bikes.  You'll see what we mean...

Read the short staff biographies below to get acquainted with the staff before you stop in, if you like.  You'll find us to be knowledgeable and friendly, and eager to talk about bicycling!  We can help you pick out a new bike, or we can help you make your old bike better.  Either way, we're happy to help. Stop in and see us soon, we'd love to meet you!

If you feel like contacting us through Facebook, then check out our page.  On our Facebook page, we post news about used bikes for sale, our weekly group rides, and new inventory in stock.  It is a great place to ask questions that you don't need answered in a hurry.  Check it out...

                     Eddie Magulick
Owner

Eddie came to State College to go to Penn Sate a very, very long time ago, and got a job at John's Deraileurs to put himself through college, and he fell in love with all aspects of cycling.  Some years later, Eddie became the owner of that same shop, which is now referred to as Eddie's Bicycles and Hockey Equipment.

Eddie has been helping bicyclists, hockey players, and figure skaters in the State College area now for nearly 26yrs.  He has done so by offering new and used bicycles, professional bicycle repair service, professional bicycle fit services, ice & inline skates, hockey equipment, and professional skate sharpening services.

He still enjoys a little road riding, a little mountain biking, and as much ice time as he can get up at the Penn State Ice Rink.  If you stop in, Eddie will be happy to help in any way he can.  Ask anyone who might know him, he's one of the friendliest people you'll ever meet.

My favorite bike in the whole world, the Jamis Dragon Race 29er!Jamis Dragon29 mountain bike

Benjamin Swab
Mechanic / Sales
Assoc.

Ever since I was 8yrs old, I've been riding a bike.  I started out on a Murray trail bike, a real cheap bike, but I loved it.  After racing around the neighborhood and hitting some sweet jumps on that baby, I started doing repairs shortly thereafter on my bike.  My father was a mechanic, so it seemed natural to me to work on my own stuff, too.  My tastes in cycling evolved and changed over the years, and went from BMX to mountain biking before I was 14yrs old.

My first mountain bike, a steel GT Tequesta, ushered in a whole new  lifestyle for me, as I saw how versatile and indomitable a mountain bike could be.  I bought a $1000 Cannondale M800, Beast of the East, when I turned 17yrs old, before I even applied for a Driver's License.  That Cannondale lasted me 15yrs or so, until I graduated to riding 29ers.

My first 29er was a game changer; it was my first suspension fork and I was learning to ride suspension and big wheels over terrain most people have difficulty hiking on...it was awesome!   Rothrock State Forest feels like my backyard now, and my fondest memories are from rides out there.  As I grew into those big 29" wheels, I learned to appreciate other modes of cycling, too.

Now, I mountain bike whenever possible, road ride a little, maybe a cross ride here and there.  Now there's indoor mountain bike parks to visit in the winter, and, of course, I commute everyday, which is a whole other type of cycling that I fully appreciate.  I have been riding for 26yrs now, on all different kinds of bikes, doing my own repairs ever since, learning more and more as I go.

I have a deep appreciation for bicycles; any of them, ALL kinds of bicycles.  I not only enjoy riding them, but I also enjoy repairing them and just talking about them.  This is why Eddie's Bicycles is a great fit for me, because I actually do get paid to do what I love.

If you stop into Eddie's bike shop, I will be more than happy to help you in any way that I can.  You will find me to be friendly, courteous, professional, and eager to help.

Hopefully, I'll see you soon.
